in case you didn't know it...

My nephew is the starting QB for Bowling Green of Ohio or #BGSU as it is so fondly known...

Anyway, MattyJ #bowNarrow is best known for being the NCAA passing leader and for having over 40 touchdowns this season.  He is highly efficient and quick.  What you don't know... the rest of the story...

What I believe is most notable about Matt is the fact that he SAT out in 2014.  Yes, SAT out - he had a season ending hip injury.  What is notable, as I write this, is that it was not career-ending.

The injury wasn't career-ending psychologically or physically.  I know a lot has been written in +Hustle Belt about his physical injuries - what should be discussed is that his mental capabilities far exceeded his physical capabilities.

How many sports players have been injured by a thumb, knee, ankle... whatever and had to stay out and the players NEVER got their "stuff" back.   This man, this player, got his "stuff" back and more.

What is amazing as he watches his team win and lose is how he carries himself on the field.  He is steady - rock steady.  It is a joy to watch his this man does not allow the "stuff" to beat him.

He could have easily beat +Ben Roethlisberger's record the other day playing Ball State.  In an apparent act of selflessness - I don't know this to be true - I am only assuming - he allowed other team members to get their accolades... Who does this now a days?

I cannot think of any athlete who plays the way MattyJ plays or performs the way he plays and still manages to be a gentleman.

For this, we are all proud. I mean we as the collective fan body that has the privilege of watching you each and every weak and knows that no matter what further accolades you receive... Money or fame won't make you; you are the man that most kids should want to look up to...

I know folks like myself who work really hard to have this kind of strength and don't make it.. This player has what others could only dream of...
